Ted's Take:
Located in a small strip-mall in Lincoln Square is one of the most authentic Philippine restaurants I've encountered. Isla Pilipina is all about the mighty pig! I dig that... I love pork... and when you fry every part of the pig, well... Boom!!
We did it this way and I suggest you do the same:
Start with the Lumpia Shanghai which are Deep fried mini eggrolls served with sweet & sour sauce: pork, egg, jicama, green onions, carrots, soy sauce, love.
Then, move on to the Crispy Pata, or pig knuckle. Sounds disgusting to you? Get over it... it's ahh-mazing!! Succulent pork under a crispy skin that has serious crunch!
Love this place and you will too!
