We get it. You're stressed and often. When we juggle work and our personal lives, all while trying to fit in a workout (and so much more), things can get hectic and when things get hectic, we get stressed. That's why we searched the web to find quick, easy ways to de-stress. Here are some of our favorites that are unconventional, relaxing, and sure to get you back on track no matter how much time you have to spare.
1. Tend to Your Ears: It may sound simple, but massaging your ears will release endorphins that make you feel better. Massage your earlobes and work your way up to the top of the ear. You will hit pressure points that relax certain areas of your body.
2. Finger Paint: It's not just for kids! Finger painting allows you to be spontaneous and creative.
3. Take a "Staycation": You don't have to travel far to take a vacation from the daily grind. Be a tourist in your own town. Take a walk or hike and get to know your neighborhood. See the sights here in Chicago or visit a museum you haven't been to in years. It's a great way to relieve stress and be active.
4. Read a Good Book: Keep a great book around to escape from a world of work and stress. Try something funny or uplifting. Books allow us to enter a different world even if just for a short time and you will feel more relaxed.
5. Delight in Dark Chocolate: Dark chocolate produces a major rush of endorphins and is packed with antioxidants. It's a great option for a quick pick-me-up and something sweet.
