Heidi Klum and Seal will divorce (Los Angeles Times) |
LOS ANGELES, Calif. (KTLA) -- Hollywood power couple Seal and Heidi Klum confirmed reports that they are calling it quits.
The couple released a statement exclusively to People magazine Sunday night.
"While we have enjoyed seven very loving, loyal and happy years of marriage, after much soul-searching we have decided to separate," the statement read.
"We have had the deepest respect for one another throughout our relationship and continue to love each other very much, but we have grown apart."
The statement went on to thank their family and fans and maintained their children's well-being will be their top priority.
TMZ reported on Friday that Klum will file papers as early as next week and could be citing "irreconcilable differences" as the reason for the split.
The couple wed in May 2005 and have four children together: Leni, 7, Henry, 6, Johan, 5, and Lou, 2.
Klum, 38, and Seal, 48, famously renewed their wedding vows every year in a lavish ceremony.
