2009 WINNER: "Wizard of Peeps"
(Submitted by Randy Rowe, Columbus, Ohio)
Caption:
This is the 70 th anniversary of "The Wizard of Oz." This is my rendition for entry to your Peeps decorating contest.
Judges' comments:
"Beyond creative and detailed. So original and it's obvious a lot of time was devoted to this."
"Amazing attention to detail. Peeptacular!"
"Blows the others away, just like a Kansas tornado."
"Incredibly detailed. Especially love the black and white versions."
"Incredible detail. The jellybean road? Amazing."
"A more ambitious and elaborate homage than any other."
"Wow! It's the obvious choice but how could I choose anything else? What amazing details. It reminds me of the Colleen Moore dollhouse at the Art Institute. I have to respect the amount of work that went into that thing. So much so that I would not attempt to eat it. I think."
"Of course any of these scenes would be a contender, but the mass of them -- amazing. And the Great and Powerful Oz scene cracks me up every time I look at it. "
"This entry had to be recognized for its abundant effort. It's like 10 entries in one! "
