CHICAGO—
Commissioner John Fritchey walked out of the Cook County Board meeting Wednesday after his proposal for changes at the morgue was pushed back to committee.
Fritchey thought he'd had a plan in place to make it easier to remove the county coroner, who now has a job for life. The coroner's management skills have come into question after hundreds of bodies were found awaiting burial.
He was surprised to see his vote tabled because other commissioners wanted more time to think it over. Fritchey talked more about it on WGN News at Five.
