The UIC campus and neighboring medical district are on alert as police continue to search for the men who sexually assaulted a student last weekend.

The student was walking on the Rush Hospital campus at 2:30 p.m. Saturday afternoon when she was approached by two men with knives.

They put a hat over her head and eyes and led her to a vehicle where they pushed her inside and sexually assaulted her. She was beaten and pushed out of the vehicle, losing consciousness when she hit the ground.

Even though the attack happened off campus, UIC police sent out a crime alert to students who made promises to themselves to be more careful.

The alert says the men sought both are black with a medium to dark complexion and are about the same height -- 5-foot-6 to 5-foot-8.

One is in his late 20s and was wearing a black hoodie and weighs about 185 pounds, while the other is in his early 20s, about 160 pounds and was wearing a black and blue hoodie, according to the alert.
