Constantine MatsakisMount Hebron, senior
The Vikings lost some key runners, but they have balance and depth, and it all starts with Matsakis. He flew under the radar a bit last year in the tough Howard County races but ran consistently throughout.
Will Meadows Gilman, sophomore
Meadows ran well as a freshman, finishing seventh in the Maryland Interscholastic Athletic Association championship meet and helping the Greyhounds to a fourth-place finish.
Taylor MuseBel Air, junior

Will Neal Chesapeake-AA, senior
Neal was the only local runner to finish in the top 10 in the tough Class 4A state meet, where he placed eighth.
Nick Rowe Calvert Hall, senior
The Cardinals aren't quite as deep this season, but Rowe will help them stay competitive. He'll again be one of the MIAA's top runners.
Eric Schuler Reservoir, junior
Schuler was overshadowed by some talented seniors in Howard County last year, but he figures to get his opportunity in the spotlight this year. He helped the Gators take seventh place in Class 3A.
Blake Stein Pikesville, senior
He took fourth in the Baltimore County meet and won in the regionals before struggling at the state meet. If Stein keeps improving, he'll give an up-and-coming Vikings program a big push.
